This past summer, while studying in Osaka, I had the opportunity to visit the private bonsai collection of Mr. Yanai, a prominent collector and restaurant owner based near Osaka, Japan.  Mr. Yanai maintains one of the most impressive bonsai collections in Kansai as well as a premier traditional Japanese restaurant that has played host to executives and dignitaries from around the world.  The pictures below are from my visit to Mr. Yanai’s shop and garden, enjoy!

I visited the Great Smoky Mountains this past weekend during a short trip back to Knoxville to visit family for the holidays.  Although the leaves had already dropped from most of the trees, the mountains and landscapes were enjoyable nonetheless.  Below are a few shots from the trip.
